Love You

I’ve been putting off cleaning out my stamp draw for some time now, because every time I delve into it I find a million stamps that I’ve not used in a while and get a sudden flood of ideas for cards and I can never make them quick enough! So taking the plunge into the unknown that is my ever growing collection of stamps, I found a Sugar Nellie stamp that I had bought from a stamp expo in Doncaster. It was time to clear my desk and get to work – see what you think!

Love You

With this card I wanted to do a shabby chic look, I have never really been able to pull it off but I think that this was a fairly good go at it. To start I got out some card stock for my stamp and coloured her in with Pro Markers.

Love You - Buttons

After inking the edges I got out a few die cuts that have been sat in a box unloved, I also grabbed a couple of buttons and some twine. I arranged everything on some backing card to make sure the whole lot was in the right place before sticking everything down. To finish off the card with a sentiment I inked the edges of some card, rounded the corners and stamped “love you”. I wanted the sentiment to look like a frame using some brads I pinned that down.

With Love

Hi everyone! Happy Thursday! I made this card last night while Jono was setting up this blog for me, I have had the Green Stack Chipboard set for a while now and have used some of the tags to do cards previously, but I have never been brave enough to use the shapes. I had always wanted to do something with this chipboard tree but could never think of anything. I had seen something similar yesterday on the Hero Arts pool on Flickr that sparked this creation.

With love

I started by gluing buttons to the tree from my rather large collection of different sized buttons. Then while that dried, I got down to cutting and layering the different papers that were out of the Green Stack cardstock set. Next I put some brads on that highlighted the colours in the cardstock and placed a “with love” stamp that was from the Papermania sentiments set.

With Love Close Up

When everything was ready to put together I started matting the layers and placing everything on to the card, the finishing touch was to get one of my dark brown ink pad and lightly brush the edge of the card to complete the look.

Hope you guys like it!

Sam.

  • About

I want to show you my point of view. That's why I got into photography – I’ve always been creative, and this is my way of expressing myself.

One of the most important things I’ve learned is that in photography there are no rules, no absolutes. It’s all about perception, the eye of the moment, and that intangible, un-nameable gut feeling. In this ever changing world you can never know everything, but you can always keep learning and discovering.

On my twisting journey I’ve tried my hand at fashion design, writing and even web design, but in the end I found card making and photography to be the most satisfying channel for my creativity. Sometimes my photos are abstract or bizarre, and sometimes they’re deceptively simple - but they’re always a glimpse into my reality.
