Just a short one from me today, I thought I would pop by with a card for this weeks Mojo Monday. I was very inspired by the colour choice for the last challenge I played along with (The Ribbon Girl) that I decided to us it for this challenge as well. I love the stamp set from Papertrey Ink its so cute and I think it has worked really well for this card, I dont think I use it enough though. I think I’ll try and do another card with that stamp set by the end of the week. That’s it from me today, I hope the rest of the week goes well for you all. Tatty bye!

How was your Monday? I seem to have got my Christmas groove on at the moment I made two Christmas cards yesterday. I know what your thinking, I know its only September but if I don’t get them done now it will be my birthday before I know. The images that I am working with are just too cute not to make any cards with. What better way to start a new week of by playing along with the ladies over at The Ribbon Girl blog! They have had a bit of a break but the DT are back with crafty vengence to play along with the colour challenge of greens and browns. The Ribbon Girl has put an awesome prize together for one lucky crafter. I put together this little card with image from Pink Petticoat again, isn’t he cute! He was just calling out to be used on a green card with his green scarf, I have particularly soft spot for the colour green. Which I am sure you would find out if you looked at my ribbon collection. I hope you all have a good week and I shall see you again with another card.

It’s finally Saturday, hands up how many of you though it wouldn’t turn up. I know I did, this week just seems to have not been a very good week, but at least its Saturday. I have finished my entry into the Tiddly Inks challenge of doing an art journal. I have never done one before so this was a very big learning curve for me. I did my research though albeit looking at Jen’s site and trawling through video’s on YouTube. Once I had a general idea in my head I put pencil to paper, I don’t really have any spray ink so I ended up using my watercolour pencils instead. I cut out the clocks for a Kaiser Craft 12 x 12 sheet and used a tree stamp that I had in my stash to make up the background. The images from Tiddly Inks finished it of nicely for me. I am chuffed I have at least had a go, though I think I will stick with my card making!

I have also started on my Christmas cards, I know a lot of people have already started, I’m sure I saw some in July. I bought a lovely little collection of Christmas images from Pink Petticoat and just had to get them. Once I had them printed of I knew i had to get out my colouring pencils. The image I have used on my card today is by far my favourite in the collection, I think it goes really well with the Basic Grey papers. It is also my play along with this weeks Deconstructing Jen sketch.

Don’t worry I will let you know when I there is some stuff in my shop.  I just wanted to show you a card that I made for the Tiddly Inks Challenge “Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall”. I LOVE how this card turned out it’s so cute, I don’t know if I can bring myself to sell it. How is your week going? Mine is flying past, I hope that the weather holds out into next week; not long now until we get on that train to go up north; well further north. We have started packing but just need to get a few more bits from the shop before we can finally close the suitcase but I can get them when I go to Tescos with my Mam tonight. I need to get a light rain jacket because knowing my luck I wont take one and then it will rain for the whole 8 days that we are there.

Exciting new! Did you see in my side bar? I won this weeks CASE study! How cool is that!? I have been crafting for about 5 years and I have been entering craft challenges for about 2 years and I have never won one. Now I can say that I have and it was with my favourite challenge blog woo hoo!

I haven’t made a card in a couple of days but I did however mangage to throw a card together for your viewing pleaseure, I hope that you like it. I decide to use the ever faithful Colourful World for this cards and pulled out some of my favourite My Minds Eye paper’s. These were in fact the papers that made me fall in love with My Mind’s Eye in the first place. When ever I see them in a cards store I always make sure that I stock up on them because its very rare that ever do see them in a shop now; I may have to start getting them of the web.

I have fallen behind somewhat with my photo challenge, however I will catch up, Day 15 in the photo challenge over at Oh So Lovely is “My shoes”. A while back I had a thing of taking pictures of me looking straight down at my feet in various places, at home, at a bus stop, in the snow. Anywhere really and I managed to build up quite a bit of a collection of photos of my shoes. So this was quite and easy day for me, I decide to take a photo of my favourite trainers, I got them from Tk Maxx and I have not really had them off my feet. As you can probably tell the black ones are my favourite, they are the ones that have had the most love and wear! I really like how this photo turned out and I am lovely the preset that I am using at the moment I have called it Retro Framed – I’m sure you can see why.

I can not wait, did I mention that. Me and Jon tided the house yesterday ready for his Aunt to come and baby sit Patch. I will hopefully be able to keep up with my photo challenges but I think my card challenges will dip for that week while I’m away.

Right I’m not on holiday yet and I have got some cards to show you the first is one I made for The Ribbon Girl Challenge to create a project the features ribbons. I love the ribbon on this card it is just gorgeous and the lace just lends itself to vintage inspired cards. The patterned paper is made by Kaiser Crafts it is from the Timeless Collection, all the papers in this collection are just lovely.

My other card is inspired by the fantastic Maureen Plut, if you haven’t been over to her blog I suggest you do because the cards she makes are amazing! This weeks CASE study was to be inspired by us the player’s, you guessed it Maureen was my inspiration. It was actually this card that inspired me, the composition was just perfect! So in a flurry of paper and ink I put together this card using one of the embellishments I made a while back as the focal image. I am really happy with how this card turned out!

How was your Saturday? I had a bit of a lazy day really, I should be getting the house ready for Iz (Jon’s aunt) to baby sit Patch and look after the house while me and Jon are at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. I am getting really excited and have started packing. I can’t wait to be in Edinburgh.

I did make some cards yesterday, one of my cards are for the challenge over at Little Red Wagon. I used the bird out of the Papertrey Ink Happy trials stamp set to make a background. I then die cut a few birds and attached them to the card with some foam dots. The sentiment defiantly lent it’s self to this card and brown was a nice contrast to the blue.

My other card is for The Deconstructing Sketch challenge; I decide to use an image from Tiddly Inks. I very rarely do boys cards and to be honest I probably should try to do some more boy cards but I never really know what to do for a boy card.

Day 13 of the Photo Challenge is From A Distance I knew what I wanted to take a photo of the York Minster you can see it down my street and thought that it would be a really photo.

I hope you all had a good week, I know I did. I was at work on Friday, I was a bit weird going back for one day during the week, throughout the morning it felt like a Monday and then when it got to about three in the afternoon I had that Friday feeling. Take my advice, if you’re going to work one day of the week don’t work a Friday it just messes with your head!
I have spent most of this morning catching up on my blog reading, I was glad to see that Lucy is able to get back in her craft room, pregnancy is not agreeing with her new craft room.  Jen’s got another sketch for us to work with, YEY! And I have a card to share made with an image from the Tiddly Inks shop. I hope you like it.

Day 12 of the August Photo Challenge is Close Up; I decide to take a photo of some flowers that I had bought the other day. Don’t ask me what type of flower they are because all I know is that they are yellow, I know I should know but I don’t sorry.

Where has the week gone? I can believe that it’s Friday again, but that means that in just 7 days I will be on a train going to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for 8 days. I cannot wait to go I ‘m really looking forward to it, don’t worry I will be reporting in during the week.

Down to today’s cards, I have been thinking outside the die cut as it were. I wanted to try my hand at having the image go outside of the frame, so I printed off a couple of images from Tiddly Inks. I picked out the deckled edge spellbinder die and lined it up where I wanted the frame to be and drew in pencil on the inner edge of the die. I then cut around everything that was outside of that line and then tucked the die behind the image but in front of the left over card and ran this through my Big Shot. Once I had cut everything out and coloured in images I started to put my cards together. My favourite one of this bunch in the card with the Wizardette image, I decided to deck out in Hufflepuffs colours, I am reading the Harry potter books at the moment. I hope that you guys like the cards.

I think I’m doing quite well with the 30 Day Photo challenge, today is “Something Fun” now besides card making which is always guaranteed to calm me down one other thing I really enjoy reading a good book. Even better then that is reading a book that’s 600 pages long on my Kindle! I love it; I was a bit dubious when I first started to look at getting one. Would I miss having a book in my bag, the feel of flipping to the next page, those awkward first hundred pages or last hundred; I thought that I would miss that tactile feel but to be honest I have not really missed it. I love my Kindle!

That how you greet someone in Navajo. How wet was yesterday, I think it stopped raining for about one hour yesterday; Patch decide to relish this time by going out to stalk birdies. As soon as it started raining again he came back inside and went back to sleep in his cupboard. Grumpy cat! I on the other hand decided to hide in the craft room and make a Halloween card. I had a look through my rather full 12×12 file and saw that I had some Halloween papers and I also had an image from Tiddly Inks that would go perfectly with it. So I printed of the image and pulled out the paper and whipped together a wickedly fun card! The other card I made is a bit more colourful then the Halloween card using colourful world from Tiddly Inks, which is quickly become one of my favourite images from that fantastic store! I had coloured the image in a couple of days ago but

For Day 10’s photo challenge the theme of the day is “Something I Made”; I was going to take a photo of my tomato plant or my radishes, instead I decide to take a photo of this week’s cards. I hung them above my fireplace and played with a few angles, but I think this one is the best; I’m really happy with how this turned out.
